Croesy travelled to bottom of the table Fleur de Lys to finish the league campaign with a much changed side following the physical encounter against Cwmbran the previous Saturday. With a number of players unable to play because of work commitments, the match offered a number of players the opportunity to shine against a Fleur de Lys team that had obviously recently strengthened its ranks in advance of the fixture.
The match turned out to be a frustrating affair with a single opportunist try by outside half Haydn Symons and five penalty goals from Matthew Entwistle playing his last league fixture before retiring at the end of the season. Croesy were unable to take advantage of their dominant set piece as a number of decisions went against them at crucial times against a team that used all the experience in its ranks to stop Croesy playing the style of game that would have meant a larger victory. The match also saw the end of the season for No.8 Garin Eldred who suffered a knee injury that will keep him out of the Ben Francis Cup semi-final.
