Croesy travelled to title rivals Pontypool United in a bid to revenge the narrow loss at Woodland Road earlier in the season. An early United penalty was cancelled out by Haydn Simons kicking his first penalty out of 5 in the match. A further exchange of penalties looked to have ensured the match would be even at half-time before Hydn Simons converted his third penalty just before the interval.
Two further penalties after half-time put Croesy in a dominant position with United struggling in both the scrum and lineout, but a third penalty brought the home side back into the game. With a six point difference, United scored the only try of the game but the conversion was unsuccessful, leaving it a one point game in Croesy's favour. United had one last penalty shot at goal but the failure to convert it meant Croesy held out for a crucial victory in the race for the league.
