The 1st XV start the New Year with two fixtures that will provide tough challenges as they pursue league and cup success. 

Having beaten Garndiffaith last Friday to secure a place in the next round of the Ben Francis Cup, the team return to league action this Saturday with a very tough away game at Blackwood. Blackwood have been one of the form teams in the league, having only lost one league fixture (narrowly away to Pontypool United) since losing their first two games, and are currently lying second in the league. They have improved greatly since we defeated them at home in September.

Next Saturday will see the team again playing away at Abercarn in the last 16 of the WRU Plate Competition. Having beaten two teams from West Wales to get to this stage of the competition, this will provide another stiff test as Abercarn will be keen to have revenge for their league defeat in November.
